Could you survive World War 3?
Perhaps that seems rather dramatic question, or is it? At the beginning of the whole COVID outbreak many people, well sort of went off the deep end of things. Who remembers the shortage of all thing’s toilet paper? I don’t know why that stuck out in my head. But for some reason, even today it makes me laugh about how serious things can become and the extremes that people will go to. Of course, other things became hard to find as well, for me it was ammunition. Yes, I had a fair amount and yes, I have a fair number of firearms as well, but for some reason, I felt that I didn’t have enough ammunition. Many of you, who had never owned or even shot a firearm went and got one. Why? Well because you felt the need to be able to protect yourself and your family. I know that many of my friends who always enjoy poking fun at me for owning firearms, during the COVID situation, were asking me to sell them a firearm or ammunition. Many people went out and bought their very first firearm, I wonder if they have ever even shot it?
Any firearm is just a tool; if you don’t use it, well you will never get good at using it. Then again, if you never take it out of the box, well it’s no better than the box it came in. I have met way too many people who think that once they have shot a firearm, they know how to shoot. I guess to a degree that is somewhat true, you have shot a firearm. But this tool is the one tool that when you need it the most, to protect you or your family, well you want to be the very best at using it. I have been handling firearms for over fifty years and I am a better than fair shot with all firearms. If you ask how often I practice, my answer is always going to be the same, “every day”. Every time I put on my firearm to leave the house, in the back of my head, I keep that what if situation going on. What if this or that happens and knowing that I have the means with me to use deadly force at any time. I don’t want to use my firearm or others to know I have a firearm on me, but if that one situation arises and I must use that as a means of last resort, I intend on being the last one standing!
