S.A.F.E.: SCREEN ACTORS FIREARMS EDUCATION
S.A.F.E. is a program that was developed after the incident during the production of the movie “Rust”. This was an incident that did not need to happen and certainly should not have happened. Sadly, one person lost their life, another was injured, and many other lives will be affected as well.
After the incident, which was shocking, we at ZRANGE began to research all of the events that led up to this incident. As a Certified Instructor with both the USCCA & NRA, we were surprised at the lack of both formal training and independent certification that is required to become an entertainment armorer. It was then we developed and established the S.A.F.E. training program (Screen Actors Firearm Education). This particular training program is to prevent any such incident from ever happening again, and to provide the actor(s) with proper training with respect to any and all firearms and firearm safety. This training program is based on both USCCA and NRA firearm programs as well as law enforcement training.
Cam Oliver the Senior Firearms Instructor with ZRANGE will personally train with those actor(s) in this program. Cam has fifty years of experience in handling various firearms, and thirty years of carrying firearms both in law enforcement and as a private citizen. He is a State of Nevada Certified Concealed Carry Weapons Instructor (CCW), Las Vegas Metro Police Department Certified CCW Instructor, Certified USCCA Carry & Home Defense Instructor, Certified USCCA Women’s Handgun & Self-Defense Instructor, Certified USCCA Range Safety Officer, Certified NRA Handgun Instructor, Certified NRA Rifle Instructor, Certified A.C.E. Instructor, Former Law Enforcement Officer (L.E.O.) State of Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Member of the Society of American Fight Directors.
ZRANGE currently offers a program called “Shooting Stars”, this program is especially for those celebrities and business executives who are seeking to achieve Nevada CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) permit certification. We do this with complete discretion due to Cam’s years of experience working with celebrities as well as high-profile business executives.
